Making the holiday brighter for those in need
Extra food packages helping families celebrate with dignity
With the new Jewish year and the High Holidays approaching, CHAMAH has been working to make sure no one is left out of the joy of the holidays.

We have been distributing extra food packages to struggling families and the elderly—meat, rice, vegetables, canned goods and holiday sweets like chocolate and honey—so every table can taste the sweetness of the season. For many, this package is the difference between having a simple meal and a joyous one.

Single parents stretching every dollar. Families whose fathers are serving in the IDF. Elderly neighbors who can no longer leave their homes. They’re counting on us. Your continued support enables to supporting those in need.

Many volunteers came to help in sorting and packing the boxes.

A deeply discounted shoe sale was organized. For many growing families, shoes are a recurring and unavoidable expense. Children outgrow them quickly, often needing replacements once or twice a year. When that cost is multiplied across three, four, or five children, even basic footwear places real pressure on a household budget.

At the Chamah Children’s Center in Russia, lessons included learning about the Jewish new year and the traditions of the upcoming holidays.
