July 24, 2023 - 6 Av, 5783

While the majority of elderly Russian Jews struggle financially or live in poverty, the Chamah Medical Center offers the kind of modern, life-saving medical attention that until now was available only to the very wealthy in Moscow and the surrounding area.

A particularly essential program at the Medical Center is The Senior Initiative for Cognitive Healing which develops and administers comprehensive programs for patients with degenerative diseases of the brain.

Cognitive issues are evaluated for treatment with a multidisciplinary professional rehabilitation staff and assessed taking into account existing disorders. A rehabilitation course is then established with the goal of restorative therapy and inhibiting the progression of the disease including social and communal readjustments, modification of residential premises to meet the needs of the patient and helping family members adjust to the condition of their loved one. This program helps seniors age with dignity and live life to the fullest while also supporting family and community in the care of the elderly.
