Uplifting Summer Event for Women

Uplifting event brings joy and strength to women, including Ukrainian refugees, with Inspiring stories and a drama workshop by Sarit

Dozens of Russian-speaking women, many of whom are recent refugees from Ukraine who have settled in Kiryat Malachi, enjoyed a summer event held at the Chamah center in Kiryat Malachi, Israel.

The program included opening remarks from Rabbi Yosef Nissilevitch, who also shared remarkable stories from his early childhood and of his father, Rabbi Moshe Nissilevitch who was born and lived in Soviet Russia. Driven by unwavering faith and a compassionate heart, Rabbi Moshe Nissilevitch, one of the founding members of the Chamah organization, tirelessly worked to alleviate the suffering of his neighbors during the brutal Soviet winters under Stalin's iron fist. He faced immense challenges, but his unwavering determination ensured that food and coal reached those who needed. Amid these struggles, he also fought tirelessly to preserve the Jewish identity of himself and his fellow man, standing resilient against the persecution against religion. Rabbi Nissilevitch's stories of faith provided encouragement and strength to the attendees.

The event featured a delightful summer dairy menu, coffee, and desserts. Entertainment included an uplifting drama workshop led by the renowned Sarit, during which participants enjoyed spontaneous acting. And there were also moments of reflection to appreciate what we have. The women had a wonderful time together and went home with renewed positive energy. ■
