As the Jewish new year holiday of Rosh Hashanah approaches, Chamah is gearing up for a massive food distribution

As we approach the Jewish New Year holiday season, Chamah is working hard to make sure that those in need in Israel during these challenging times will have much-needed items to celebrate with dignity and joy.

With Rosh Hashanah beginning on the eve of September 22nd, we're focusing on providing holiday food packages filled with traditional foods and other essentials to help families observe this Jewish holiday season and welcome a sweet, hopeful new year.

The Chamah Community Center in southern Israel, located near towns bordering Gaza, has been a vital lifeline for families and individuals navigating the ongoing impact of the war over the past two years. Since the war began, we've remained on the front lines of support in places like Kiryat Malachi, Ashkelon, and Ofakim—distributing food boxes with essential supplies and prepaid supermarket vouchers to families in need, delivering hot meals to homebound seniors, and conducting home visits that bring words of comfort and encouragement to the isolated elderly.

In addition, we provide nutritious breakfasts and subsidized lunches for children from low-income families ensuring they have the strength to grow and learn during these difficult times. Notably, among our beneficiaries are families and spouses of soldiers serving in the IDF, defending the Jewish homeland. ■
