Excitement filled the air as parents and children eagerly awaited this year’s Purim costume loan event! With hundreds of costumes on display—complete with accessories like hats, gloves, and helmets—children had the opportunity to try on and choose the perfect outfit for the holiday.

The program provides an affordable solution for families, as purchasing costumes for multiple children can quickly become a significant expense. Volunteers played a crucial role, not only assisting with setup but also helping children find their ideal costumes and registering each selection.

The smiles on the children’s faces as they twirled in their new costumes said it all. Parents, too, felt a sense of relief, knowing they could provide their children with festive attire for a minimal, token fee of a few shekel. The proceeds from this initiative go toward acquiring more costumes for the following year, ensuring that this tradition of joy and generosity continues.

With Purim just around the corner, children are eagerly looking forward to showcasing their costumes at school parties and on the holiday itself. And after the celebrations, the costumes will be returned, ready to bring happiness to another group of children next year. ■
