An Unforgettable Journey: October 7th Orphans Visit the U.S.
A Journey of Remembrance, Resilience, and Connection
A group of young boys, orphans from October 7th, and sons of fallen IDF heroes, embarked on a meaningful and unforgettable trip from Israel to the United States, filled with inspiration, connection, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
For ten days, twelve boys, ages 13 to 16, traveled across the country, visiting key cities and meeting Jewish communities that warmly embraced them. Their journey took them through Miami, Orlando, Washington, D.C., and New York, blending moments of excitement with deep reflection.
In Belle Harbor, Miami, the boys were welcomed with open arms for a beautiful Shabbat experience at the local synagogue. After the ending of the Shabbat, the Sushi 26 restaurant hosted a special evening in their honor, where Rabbi Israel Shimon Chudaitov spoke with the boys, offering inspiration and commiserating with their pain. Mendel Barada, a well-known local lecturer, offered heartfelt words while encouraging them to find strength and resilience in the face of such profound loss. Rabbi Moshiach Chudaitov, Vice President of Chamah, listened to the boys’ stories and offered words of hope and faith. The event left a profound impact on all, with the boys expressing deep gratitude to Chamah for making this trip possible.
The trip included thrilling adventures like a visit to an amusement park, meaningful encounters with rabbis, community leaders, and dignitaries, and visits to local Jewish communities.
In Washington, D.C., they had the privilege of visiting the White House and meeting with U.S. senators. In New York City, they shared a special dinner with Israel’s ambassador to the United States, who was deeply pained by their stories. He expressed his profound sorrow and deep empathy, sharing in their grief and loss.
Throughout their travels, these boys, who carry the legacy of their brave parents, found comfort and strength in the embrace of Jewish communities across America. Their journey was one of remembrance, resilience, and hope, reminding all who met them of the sacrifices made for the Jewish nation—and the unbreakable bond that connects Jews worldwide. ■
The trip was co-directed by Rabbi Berri Spitezki with the assistance of Rabbi Schneur Zalman Halperin.
