Holiday event in honor of the upcoming Jewish new year

In honor of the upcoming Jewish New Year Holiday, Rosh Hashana, the Chamah center in Kiryat Malachi, Israel hosted a festive evening for Russian immigrants and Ukrainian refugees.

Attendees were warmly welcomed to a sit-down dinner and the event commenced with opening remarks delivered by city council delegates. The atmosphere was filled with tradition and celebration.

To symbolize the hope and sweetness of the New Year ahead, the Shofar was sounded and traditional holiday foods were served; the apple dipped in honey; pomegranates; honey cake, and raised glasses of wine for a Lechaim, extending warm wishes for a happy and healthy new year to all in attendance.

The entertainment for the evening included lively traditional Jewish melodies that had everyone dancing. Additionally, attendees were treated to the reading of poetry written by an elderly WWII veteran, specially composed for this memorable occasion.
