Lag B'omer activities for children

At the Chamah center for children in Russia, children learned about the holiday and made commemorative crafts

In honor of the Lag B'Omer holiday, special activities were held at the Chamah Children’s Center in Russia.

There was a clay therapy session where the children created bonfires out of clay. They learned about the story and history of this special day, which commemorates the end of a plague that afflicted Rabbi Akiva's students, and the passing of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, a revered sage and mystic. Traditionally, Lag B'Omer is celebrated with bonfires, outdoor activities, and parades, commemorating Rabbi Yochai’s teaching and the celebration of Jewish unity. ■
