At the Senior Center in Moscow, Purim was celebrated with a festive celebration for local seniors, bringing them the joy of the holiday. The program included the traditional reading of the Book of Esther, which tells the story of Purim and the deliverance of the Jewish people from danger in ancient Persia.

Israel remains on high alert. Residents have been instructed by the Home Front Command of Israel Defence Forces to stay close to protected spaces and limit non-essential activity. Schools and workspaces are closed. Families are repeatedly interrupted during the night by warning sirens and must rush to shelters as missile and drone attacks continue from Iran.

In honor of the upcoming Purim holiday, parents and children came to the Chamah Center for the Purim costume lending program. The program provides an affordable solution for families, as purchasing costumes for multiple children can quickly become a significant expense. The smiles on the children’s faces as they twirled in their new costumes said it all. And For seniors, a warm, joyous celebration took place for at the Chamah Senior Center A few days prior to the holiday. Young children came as guests, adding much joy. They gave the seniors pictures they drew at kindergarten, a collective Mishloach Manot Purim gift, and performed a delightful song and dance for the seniors.
